We take over many projects halfway through, where the client has fallen out with a contractor who was unable to produce what was promised - perhaps through shoddy workmanship, false costings to obtain the job or just not turning up on site. A regular comment is: 'If only we had chosen you first!' This from clients who have already paid for 'work', which we then have had to correct or complete. Not all contractors are the same!
We took over this project after the clients sacked the original builder, who had ripped up and burnt the oak floors, formed openings in the walls without props or lintels and dug out the ground floor, leaving a pool 12 inches deep. The perils of going for the cheapest quote!
